One of Grandmaster Cantu's Senior Students who has been under Shihan Cantu since Profe-  ssor Gonzales was as a Master Level (5th Dan) and now he is ranked and registered as a 7th, Nanadan and Senior Master or Beginning Grandmaster Level, often refered to as Professor  by many in the Arts., He has gone before the HIGH DAN BOARD of Tanaka and its Senior Elite and has been awarded the Rank and Title and the Position as SENIOR RANK in the Rio Grande Valley, of Southern Texas, along with PROFESSOR. A "High" and special privilege which has been bestowed on three others in the Tanaka family in the over fifty (50+) years that Shihan or Kaicho Cantu has issued ANY of his Senior Ranks ! some of who have been with him close to (40) forty years. Since 1971 this is the 3rd PROFESSOR Title which has been awarded.

Ms Clarissa Villanueva and her younger Brother Marcos Antonio.. are without doubt the products of exceptional parents who have given their ALL to their children. They have become #1  many times over! and display the character of True Martial Artist...whether it be Japanese, Korean or Kungfu ... they display the very best in teaching and students. They were among my children in receiving the coveted YUDANSHA (black belt) ranking and only after extensive mat testing... they follow in the footsteps of the Victoria, Texas Group under Dawn Kabela Jimenez who is also an Exceptional Martial Artist ! not to forget Mr Wayne Nguyen of Hous-ton who has done so much for the younger martial artist and following under such notables as Mr Chuck Norris another Old Timer as  myself, I dont remember if Noris was in Korea when I was but I know he was Air Force while I was Army...but we are both from the Old School.

This is why I issued them the Coveted Black Belt under my system and the title that goes with it ! from Sho/Cho Dan to Nidan they merit the title of Sensei ( under 4th dan, they would be accepted as Novice sensei) as a 7th Dan would be a Novice Grandmaster or as some would say "Freshmen" or Frosh ! but they Merit the title and the Ranking of being called sensei or teacher.

NOW, Gilberto Villanueva has also been awarded his ranking and will eventually be cetified as his children through me, TANAKA-Ryu and will be Sanctioned as a Yudansha throughout our fa mily members worldwide.  Mr Gilberto Villanueva will now become the Official "DOJOCHO" for Team Tiger Martial Arts !

I salute, and congratulate the Villanueva Family for the Example they have and are displaying to the public and making them aware of what the arts can do for your child and our future!

It is my privelege as the Founder and President, Senior Grandmaster to congratulate those of  Tanaka-Ryu on behalf of many to enclude Gm Williams of Shinto-Kai, ALL of our Senior or ...  Master Grade Instructors under the Tanaka banner ! TANAKA's GUIDELINES FOR RANK AND TITLE:

Shodan 2 to 3 y, Nidan  3 to 5 y, Sandan  5 to 8 y,  Yondan   to 12 y,  Godan 12 to 18 y,  Rokudan  18 to 25 y, Shichidan  30 to 40 y [ min age 45],  Hachidan  41 to 45 y min age 55 y,  Kyudan  50 or more [ min age 75] 

TITLE: Requirements

Mini age requirements which must be met...

HANSHI [55], KYOSHI [45], RENSHI [35]

RENSHI: Highly trained warrior, Man of high attainment. KYOSHI: Eminent Instructor for Warrior, Master Instructor. HANSHI: Exemplary Illustrious Warrior, Master of the Samurai Way.

THESE ARE OUR GUIDELINES THAT "WE" AT TANAKA MUST FOLLOW AND ARE SET BY KYOTO JAPAN, SINCE TIME OF THE SAMURAI..

ALL of our members and students have met these requirements, and to include myself we are all "MAT" tested before a "High Dan Board" or Shinsa Iin Kai which consist of Senior Masters of all areas of the arts, all must be at least 8th Dan in Ranking and over 40 years in the arts. 

If you are not tested by the HDB then you do not meet our guidelines, and will have to go be fore our High Dan Board for Certification which will meet Japans' Guidelines. 

HANSHI 

HANSHI or SHIHAN are ISSUED and not given... you must meet requirements also !

NO ONE MAY BE ISSUED "SENIOR RANK" BY COMING UP WITH A NAME OR STYLE WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, IN OTHER WORDS IF    YOU WERE BRUCE LEE, YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BELONG TO DNBK NOR IMAF, DUE TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, YOU WOULD AND MUST MEET "AGE & TIME IN RANK OR WITH...  APPROPRIATE RANK".

All of my students; Johnny Gonzales 7th Dan and Warren Leland 9th Dan MET those require-  ments ! and were MAT tested for ALL their ranks, they met the above requirements and a panel or Shinsa Iin Kai, or Board approved their ranks.

We are strictly traditional and only those few that are eligible will be accepted as we all have earned our titles, or ranks., I sign HANSHI because I am a Professor and a Saiko Shihan and have MET all requirements, I received my 9th Dan at "54 years of age" before a panel, and also received my 7th Dan in Aiki Jujutsu in 99 and was ABOVE the age, in fact I was already   Kudan by then. If we do not meet or have a "Standard" then we are as all else, we are just....  paper gatherers, or Certificate Mill as many others are, a Hall of Fame is merely to Honor you for your acheivements, NOT to issue rank ! because unless they are of your style and have board members to test you after you meet with the appropriate requirements, than it is not ...  a BONAFIED rank, nor will it ever be accepted by DNBK nor IMAF which are very very strict and DO NOT accept rankin above 6th Dan without TESTING you in person  and before Japan.   If you meet these standards by all means, then you are what WE at Tanaka say and accept as we write down on paper that you are. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS, no friends, or buddies can issue rank without the boards approval and M-A-T   testing...

We are Certified ,"Mat-Tested" to do our jobs, unlike anyone else, we take pride in our work. We live everyday to do one thing TEACH and enjoy watching others learn what will make them "Excell" as youngster should, or even as young adults, or adults.

SELF gratification is enough for some of us who are called SENIOR teachers or shihans;

Gm Jikiden 10th Dan Eishin- Present & Grandmaster of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu.

Miura Takeyuki ,Hanshi, was born January 5, 1922 in Shimane-ken, Japan.

At the age of eleven, he entered the Budo Senmon Gakko, a martial arts training school, where he began his study of Kendo, the modern art of Japanese fencing which has its roots in Samurai swordmanship.

HAPKIDO AND TAEKWONDO 

Grandmaster Petrotta has been one of the "Leading" sources of the arts of Hapkido and Taekwon do!  Certification through Kukkiw on and KIDOHAE these are the highest of certifications that one could ever hope to have in the korean arts... While in the Carolinas or anywhere else for that matter ! all anyone has to do is click on your computor for the ULTIMATE in the Korean Arts.

We do not, or will not accept or honor ranking of those who DO NOT meet age re quirements nor the TIME in the arts, in other words if you are 28 or 35 years of age and are accept- ed by some... as a Grandmaster or Shihan, those credentials DO NOT meet with DNBK , nor because of ranking issued by a Hall of Fame, which is not authorized to issue such rank ! I will not honor, nor will I acknowlede a  rank nor title of such, that is what I would call a Paper collector or a joke to those who have been in the arts, since very young and have met ALL requirements, not by meeting requirements from friends with high ranks.
